Through time with Rudy: 40 Years of Stafier through his eyes
With forty years under his belt, he is not just a familiar face but also a living testament to the history of Stafier. His story is one of growth, change and a lot of fun. We are, of course, talking about Rudy Willemsen, who began his career as a temporary worker and has since grown to become the pivot of the logistics process within the organization.
How it began
Rudy’s adventure at Stafier began in an unusual way. After his military service, he came into contact with the company thanks to his father. “I started as a temporary employee, but that wasn’t for long because after six months I got a permanent position as a production employee,” he recalls. What followed was an impressive journey through the different layers of the company. Rudy went through all the production processes, from inspecting incoming products to managing logistics. “It’s a broad journey and you really need to have thorough production knowledge,” he explains.
Change in the production process
In Rudy’s 40 years at Stafier, he has witnessed the transformation of the production process up close. “We used to make small parts for copy machines, bucket handles and drying boards for bricks, now we produce drying boards for bricks and roof tiles and frames for the concrete and food industries,” he says with pride. But despite the increased size and complexity of the products, automation has made the work lighter for employees.
A culture of learning
At Stafier, the opportunity to learn and grow is always present. “The company invests in its people,” Rudy says. He himself has taken several courses, including electrical switching, all facilitated by the company. “It’s great to see that you can continue to develop yourself. It’s also appreciated.”
The heartbeat of Stafier
Rudy is not only an expert in his field; he is also a social connector within the company. With his involvement, as a member of the employee association, in sporting events and social activities, such as the organization of soccer tournaments, he brings colleagues together. “Everyone is always open for a chat. That’s what makes the atmosphere so nice,” he says. His humor and creativity are also expressed during party nights, where he enjoys putting his colleagues and managers in the spotlight in a playful way.
At home at Stafier
With his years of experience and commitment, Rudy is an indispensable link within Stafier. His story reflects not only his personal growth, but also Stafier’s values: learning, collaborating and a strong corporate culture. “The nice atmosphere is one of the reasons I’ve been there for forty years. If I’m somewhere good, why would I leave?” he concludes.
