For decades, Vandersanden’s ceramic specialists have been producing street and facade solutions of character. They do this using a modern and fully automated production. “After the press has shaped the bricks to the desired size, these bricks go into the drying chambers. These are special chambers where they reduce the moisture content of the products from about 24% to 4%. Residual heat from the kilns is used for drying. So it’s important that the boards on which the bricks lie are also resistant to these factors,” explains maintenance manager Maikel Duchateau.
