Early 2019, owner Henk Engels expanded his plant with 22-bay drying pallets instead of 16-bay. These pallets had to be longer (2755 mm) than the pallets already present (1950 mm). The height could only increase slightly because of the limited space within the current machinery. Normally, the height would certainly have to increase to give the pallet the proper strength.

Our Engineering Department was faced with a great challenge! For Henk Engels we developed the DFM (Double Folded Material) drying pallet. This increases the strength and stability of the drying pallet.

At Steenfabriek Engels drying pallets for bricks with the DFM property in combination with SR (Sound Reduced) have been in use since the end of 2018. This SR leads to significant noise reduction in the plant.
